Spillman at FUSE

FUSE’s 2020 Digital Colloquium featured a presentation by our keynote speaker, co-founder and former editor of Tin House, Robert Spillman. Spillman detailed his journey into the publishing field. In an empowering and honest presentation, Robert Spillman discussed his experiences in undergraduate and graduate schools, and his fears prior to entering the publishing field. Funny, relatable, and insightful, Spillman’s journey to success had the room captivated.

About Robert Spillman

Robert Spillman is co-founder and former editor of Tin House and is editor at Broadcast from Pioneer Works. He received the PEN/Nora Magid Award for Editing, the Vido Award, the CLMP Energizer Award for Acts of Outstanding Literary Citizenship, and more. He has been published in BookForum, the Boston Review, Connoisseur, Details, GQ, Guernica, Nerve, the New York Times Book Review, Rolling Stone, Salon, Spin, Sports Illustrated, Time, Vanity Fair, Vogue, and his memoir All Tomorrow’s Parties was published in 2016 by Grove Press. He has taught at a number of universities, such as Queensland University, University of Santiago. He is currently a lecturer at Columbia University.
